Another Tooth!

I can't believe almost 6 months and two teeth already!!! Orion's bottom right tooth has finally broken threw! This boy has been drooling like crazy (I need to invest in more bibs)! The way he has been gnawing on his fist you would think it would have fallen off already!

Mom's Visit

Mom came up for a quick visit, too short! Of course she had to spoil Orion while she was here! Orion got new cell phone (from Fisher Price), 2 new outfits, 3 undershirts and a shirt that says "Don't make me call Grandma", a Build-A-Lion, all sorts of baby food and a Booster Chair for the table. O.K. she spoiled me too! Mom cleaned my oven, did laundry the entire time she was here (she can never sit still), bought me a new shirt and picked up some groceries.

Mom, Uncle Troy, Orion & I went to the Alaska State Fair and saw this HUGE cabbage!

We may have the shortest summers but with the amount of daylight each day we grow some huge veggies!!!

Grandma feed Orion his first potato. He loved it!!! Now when ever I have Potato wedges or French Fries he has to have some!

Mom, thanks for watching Orion so I was able to put in some extra hours at work. I really appreciated it!

Bath Time

This was when we went camping in Seward. It was so cute I just had to post it.

This sink was the perfect fit! When I went to get him out he was suctioned to the drain and had a little ring on his booty!

Taken a stitch out and 4 hours later

I had the urge to sew today believe it or not! Which is so not me, but I had been wanting to make a cover for my body pillow. (I usually leave the sewing up to Melissa.)

I purchased this material from Joann's way back in January. (I've been procrastinating for the fear of messing up!) I am usually all thumbs when it comes to sewing, but I have to give myself a HUGE pat on the back!!!

I have material from the same theme to make 2 pillowcases, but I think I am going to wait on those. I am pooped!

Silver Salmon Derby here we come!

Peter has all next week off so we are taking off to Seward with the family to catch us some fish. Here's my to-do list while we are gone:
  • Nap
  • Work on crafts
  • Read Twilight
  • Nap
  • Work on Wild Berry Stuff
  • Nap
Wish us luck! I hope we catch a winner!!!

Clank...Clank!

Today Peter was giving Orion a drink of water from my glass and heard a "clank". We looked at each other and said what was that. I pried Orion's mouth open and sure enough, there is his first tooth just barely breaking through on the bottom left. I am so excited!!! That explains the fussiness today and yesterday :)

Thunder...YAHOO!!!

Earlier this evening we had a little rain storm with THUNDER! I was soooo excited!!! Poor Orion, little guy was scared half to death, but I was lovin' it! I dropped everything I was doing and just sat on the couch with him watching it rain and listening to the thunder. It felt just like being back home. I have been up here for 7 years and have only heard it thunder like 3 times. Shortly after Peter and I started dating there was a really good thunder storm with lightening and he was out on the back deck video taping it! It was pretty funny, but we don't get them that often up here.

What a day!

Here's what I accomplished to day:
  • 1 load of laundry...I was able to get 3 loads done but only 2 folded!!!
  • dishes
  • pull out the sewing machine and finish Orion's 2 blankets (I pulled the sewing machine out. Does that count for something?)
  • download pictures from the camera
  • make cover for our Home Management Notebook (will talk about this later)
  • put together Home Management Notebook (started)
  • sort Orion's clothes, what he has out grown
  • update Orion's monthly scrapbook, behind 2 months (finished June and started on July)
  • clean scrap room...LOL (just for giggles)
  • make shopping list for Carrs
  • make shopping list for Walmart
  • update blog
  • Rex: learn about the letter "B"
  • work on Wild Berry projects for 2 hours
Not to mention I kept Rex & Orion busy all afternoon (we went for a walk and played), went out to dinner with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law, talked to my boss over the phone, ran over to Peter's boss' house to pick up a sign and of course I had to take an hour break to watch Ghost Hunters.

I am pooped and ready for bed but Orion is refusing to go to sleep! What a poot!!!

How does one find the time to get everything on their to-do list done?

I have no idea how all these stay at home mom's can get so much accomplished in a day especially with a baby in tow and still look good! I am lucky if I even get a shower in before noon!!!

I know that some of these are far fetched but I feel that if I write them down then they actually might get done! With that being said here is my to-do list for the day:
  • 1 load of laundry
  • dishes
  • pull out the sewing machine and finish Orion's 2 blankets
  • download pictures from the camera
  • make cover for our Home Management Notebook (will talk about this later)
  • put together Home Management Notebook
  • sort Orion's clothes, what he has out grown
  • update Orion's monthly scrapbook, behind 2 months
  • clean scrap room...LOL (just for giggles)
  • make shopping list for Carrs
  • make shopping list for Walmart
  • update blog
  • Rex: learn about the letter "B"
  • work on Wild Berry projects for 2 hours
I will let you know how I did later this evening.

Wish me luck!!

What a bunch of babies!

Here's what happens when you leave the Grandparents alone with the Grand kids:

Just Kidding!

Paige is crying cause Tricia and Jason had just left and Orion is crying cause Paige is crying. It was actually quite comical!

Making a Dent!

I am finally making a dent into my scrapbooking albums. I purchased this kit on QVC by Lisa Bearnson a few years ago. I started on the 1st album as soon as I got it, then it got shoved in the corner. I stumbled across it the other day and decided to finish it. It only took me a few days! Now I have started on the 2nd album two days ago and I am halfway down with it. GO ME! Now if only I could get started on our Wedding Album, Orion's Baby Album, Debbie's Drag Book and Dad's Brag Book!!!

Yummy, Yummy Peaches

We were getting Orion ready for his first feeding of peaches and snapped our first family picture. We will actually be getting our pictures taken here in a couple of weeks.
I was not surprised that it was going in just a few minutes. He stares at us when we are eating and will even drink from my cup!

I admit it...I helped teach him that!

Orion is such a goof ball! He has started sticking his tongue out. Uncle Troy started it, every morning he would stick his tongue out at Orion and Orion would attempt to stick his right back. I thought it was so cute that I would stick my tongue out at him all the time. Now he will do it with just a little provoking. Shhh...I think I provoke him more then anyone else but, it is soooo cute!

Orion in a Nut Shell

Orion at just 4 months old you are such a big boy. I can not believe how fast you are growing!

  • You are so interested in food. You watch us eat, giving us dirty looks even after we are done. Sorry dude but you have to wait 2 more months!
  • You know what a telephone is for and get mad if you don't get to hold it, talk or even listen to who is on the other end.
  • You prefer to sleep on your side instead of your back.
  • You are rolling over, even in your sleep! The minute I lay you down awake or not you roll over to your tummy.
  • You are a ladies man. You flirt by cooing and raising your eyebrows. You have just about every woman you encounter wrapped around your little finger. (Boy am I gonna have my hands full!)
  • You scoot on your back.
  • After a little coxing you will stick your tongue out.
  • You have started to scoot on your tummy. Between rolling and scooting you have started to venture off your blanket.
  • You have to see everything! Always forward facing, you throw a fit if you can't see.
  • We found your ticklish spots! Your feet, under arms and sides. You have the cutest giggle!

4 Month Check Up

Today Orion had his 4 month check up. I cannot believe how fast he is growing. He now weighs 17 lbs. 15 oz. and is 27 inches long! He has started rolling over from his back to stomach without any problems, but his stomach to back he tries and tries and tries. He's done it a couple of times but he struggles with it.

4th of July Weekend

We went camping with Peter's family in Seward this last weekend. I just love that place! To me the fireworks are so disappointing. It's just too light here in the summer time for them. I know it's hard to see them but this picture was taken from the campsite just after midnight on the 4th. They took place in town across the bay from where we were staying.

I forgot a hat for Orion so here was our solution for being in the sun, his sweatshirt pulled up over his head. He was known as "Son of Pharaoh" for the afternoon.

Enjoying the sun with Grandpa Allen

Hanging out with daddy

Mommy and Orion down at the beach

Getting ready to visit by the camp fire. Auntie Alaina let you borrow her Korn Beanie.

Great Grandma "Bona" & Great Grandpa "Papa"

What a gorgeous day and there is still snow on the mountains!

BBQ with Chris & Rachel

We had Chris and Rachel over for Burgers tonight. It had been a while since we'd have dinner together. I look forward to hanging out with them. Tonight was the first time Chris had held Orion. It only took 4 months to get you to hold your Godson! Gosh, all I can say is "it's about time Christopher!" And look his head it still attached...LOL

On Sunday Peter & I went to see Wanted with Carl and Michelle. We ended up taking Orion with us. We were supposed to go to the Air show but do to the weather and traffic it would have been to much of a hassle. Anticipating that we were going I bought earmuffs for Orion. Well they worked really well for the movie...he he! It worked out perfectly the movie was right around his nap time, so while the previews were rolling I gave him his bottle and put the earmuffs on and before the movie had even started he was asleep. He slept through the entire movie! Once the movie was over I took the earmuffs off and he woke right up happy as can be.

Orion's First Camping Trip

Finally a weekend getaway! This last weekend we drove down to Seward to camp with the Family. Peter caught 2 Halibut! I can't wait to make some deep friend Halibut. Yummy!

Oh Yeah!!!

We camp in style!

Here we all are around the campfire. From Left to Right: Uncle Nick, Bona, Papa, Auntie Tammi, Grandpa Allen, Orion and Me, Grandma Debbie, Brooke and Rex.

Orion just loved being outside. Every little movement peaked his interest!
Lamu and Andrea camped Friday night with us. Here's Lamu trying to snag Salmon from the shore of the camp site. It's a bummer he didn't catch anything!

Don't you just love that view! Who wouldn't want to wake up to that every morning?

While camping I had the perfect opportunity to do some scraping. I am now up to date on Orion's book for at least another week anyways. I was so excited when I came across some pictures of when I found out I was pregnant. I just couldn't resist getting started on them.

Happy 92nd Birthday!

On Thursday we visited with Peter's Great Grandma Martha for her 92nd Birthday. She had family visiting her most of the afternoon and was pretty exhausted by the time we arrived.

We walked in the door to her room and Peter's Grandma told her we had a present for her. Orion was still in his car seat and we sat him down in front of her. She just looked at him and started laughing. She said he was cute. A few moments later she looked at Peter and said "You are cute too, but you don't smile!" The whole room busted out in laughter.

Here's Orion with his Great Grandma Bona and his Great Great Grandma Martha. It is truly amazing to have 5 Generations still alive. I would of loved to have a picture of all the Generations!

Back in the Saddle Again!

It has been so long since I have scraped a page, at least a year and boy have I missed it! I've worked on little projects here and there but not an actual page. I've decided to start with the easiest thing I could, an Album for Orion. Here's the first page:

Since he was born I've taken pictures on the 6th of each month and have been keeping track of weigh-ins at Dr. Appointments, when Family came to visit, Firsts, etc. I am so excited about the way these next 2 pages came together. So quick and easy! Now I just need to finish May and then I'm off to his 12x12 album.

District Manager Position

On Monday Peter submitted his application for the District Manager Position. There are only 3 positions here in Alaska and they are looking to fill only 1. The position will include several stores under his care, pay increase, yearly bonus and company car. I know that there are several other Store Managers applying for the position that are probably a little more seasoned then Peter but I am going to remain optimistic. After all he has been with the company for 10 years and has been grooming for this position for some time now. Even if he doesn't get the position at least Management knows that he is interested for future openings!

Sooo today he had a phone interview with HR in Minnesota. It took an hour and he said it went really well. Now we just have to wait and see if there is going to be a second interview. I have my fingers crossed!

Jumping in Feet First

I finally did it! I started a blog. I had only been thinking about it for like a year and now I can't wait to share what's going on with us in Alaska. Stay tuned for updates.
